My Summer Fitness Routine

I love doing sports, but to keep things from becoming too monotonous, I occasionally change my routine. In summer I also like to workout outdoors. This variety helps me to stay on the ball. My weekly routine isn’t set in stone, sometimes I switch days when I do sports. It is important to me to train at least 3 to 5 times a week, it doesn’t count on which days I do sports.
At the moment I’m focusing on improving my endurance and reducing stress with yoga. While I’m also working on building muscle at the gym, I limit it to 1-2 times a week to focus on improving my stamina. In autumn/winter I’m planning to dedicate myself more to building muscle. I’ll share my fitness-path with you.

Here is my current fitness routine:

MONDAY

On Mondays I love to start full of enery into the week, so I visit the gym or train in the park. Especially on hot summer days, I prefer to train in air conditioned rooms. Indoor I usually use the crosstrainer or the bycicle ergometer. Sometimes I focus only on a certain area like my legs or my butt and lift weights.

TUESDAY

On Tuesdays I often go running or cycling. I bought a new mountain bike in August, so I’m really up into biking at the moment. But I also like running in the morning, when it’s still quiet and peaceful outside. So I feel refreshed to start the new day. If I don’t have time in the morning, I run in the evening when it’s not so hot outside. I make sure to end the jogging route at least 2 hours before going to sleep, so that I’m not too wide-awake and can sleep well at night.

WEDNESDAY

Usually Wednesday is my day off. If my schedule doesn’t allow it otherwise, I’ll put my rest day on Friday, e.g. when I’m invited to a party or meet friends and haven’t time to complete my training before.

THURSDAY

Thursday is Yogaday <3 Sometimes I do Yoga in the gym, sometimes I practice at home. I love Yin Yoga. It calms me down and I can relax and forget all the stress.

FRIDAY

On Fridays I do my 15 Minute Body Workout for Beginners. I also like to deviate from my training and occasionally change a few exercises so that it’s not always the same.

SATURDAY

Saturday is my second rest-day. I like to spend this day going out or discovering new places. There is so much that you couldn’t explore, because there isn’t enough time during week – you should take some me-time on such a day!

SUNDAY

On Sundays, I vary my training weekly and do what feels right for me on that day. When I’m in the mood for dancing, I work on my moves and dance to hip-hop music. When I’m in the mood for something relaxing, I meditate and do some yoga practice. When I’m motivated and full of energy I go to the gym and train or I do a workout from my fitness blog, such as my 15 Minute Workout for your Legs & Butt.
